THANK YOU FOR LAST WEEK’S COLLECTION: €1251

‍

A DATE FOR YOUR DIARY: on Wednesday, December 10th, please God, the feast of Our Lady of Loreto, I will celebrate my 30th anniversary of ordination as a priest of Jesus Christ. I would like to celebrate this occasion with you, dear parishioners, not with a focus on me, but rather on thanksgiving to God for the gift of the priesthood to the Church and the world, and to highlight the need for priestly vocations. What I suggest would be to celebrate the usual Wednesday evening 7pm Mass, followed by a modest cuppa and some of your lovely home baking in the community room afterwards, with donations to Mary’s Meals instead of gifts. What do you think?

‍

SINCERE THANKS to Lourda Dunne and the Children’s Rosary group of the parish for organizing a wonderful day out in Knock last Saturday at the national Rosary rally. It was inspiring to gather with people from the 32 counties of our country and beyond in our national shrine, to celebrate our faith and our love for Our Lady and her holy Rosary. There was something there for everyone, from Rosary-bead making workshops for the children, to a talk for adults from exorcist Monsignor Stephen Rosetti on the dangers of getting involved in the occult. At the 3pm Mass and Benediction in a packed basilica, which included the Sacrament of Holy Anointing of the Sick, Bishop Donal Mc Keown preached, and Dana led us all in song with her hits Totus Tuus and Lady of Knock. It was a wonderful, hope-filled time of renewal of our faith, concrete evidence of the presence of Jesus, risen and alive. Praying for the state of this broken world and those affected by war, famine, and violence, we reaffirmed our hope that, through the power of the Holy Spirit and the intercession of Our Lady, healing and reconciliation will come. We remembered the words of Sr. Lucia of Fatima that noting is impossible to God, and that there’s no problem, however great, that cannot be solved by praying the holy Rosary. We also had great craic on the bus and enjoyed a Supermacs on the way home to the Banner County! I will be in Medjugorje for the week of Wednesday, June 25th to Wednesday July 2nd. There will be no weekday Masses, but Adoration will continue as usual at 6pm on the Wednesdays.  Fr. Ignatius Mc Cormack will cover the weekend Masses. A triduum of Masses will be offered for your intentions. If you have any special intentions to be brought, please write them out and give them tome.
